Checking The Georgetown Cruise Ship Schedule In Grand Cayman
Whether you are staying in Rum Point, North Side, East End, or Bodden Town it’s a great idea to check the cruise ship schedule before you plan your day trip into Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach.
Grand Cayman is a popular destination for several different cruise lines. There are times when as many as 5 or 6 massive cruise ships arrive into port on the same day. Many thousands of cruise passengers spill out onto the streets of Georgetown for a day of shopping, dining, sightseeing and adventure. Needless to say, it can become quite crowded with that many people on-island for the day.

At the official Port Authority Of The Cayman Islands website you can view the schedule ahead of time. This way, you can drive your rental car into town when there will be a minimal number of ships in port. If you go when there are no ships in port, some of the vendors may stay home for the day.
Guests staying at our condo rental, A Mid-Winter Night’s Dream, can expect the drive to take a full 45 minutes into downtown Georgetown and slightly longer for Seven Mile Beach. Plan accordingly and your adventure will be more enjoyable.
To sum things up, DO take a day to visit Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach. Check the cruise ship schedule and pick a day with fewer ships in port. Have a map handy, as the roads can be confusing once you’re in town. Find a good parking spot and go explore the wonderful shops and sights of downtown Grand Cayman.
